Stoneware Glaze 2344 Opaque Beige, Matt 100 g
A beautiful, matte glaze that suits all types of clay. Often used on stoneware clay 1109, where a perfect balance between the clay's lava stains and the glaze's colour and opacity is created. Thin glazed becomes 2344 transparent, while a thicker layer makes it opaque. Above 1260 °C it starts to get glossy. The glaze gives a fine, hard glass surface.
|Rec. temperature||:||1250-1260 °C|
|Specific gravity ||:||45-50°|
The glaze powder is mixed with water, for good mixing results we recommend glaze stirrers . Measure approx. 8 dl water per kg glaze powder and slowly pour the powder into the water while stirring. Adjust glaze powder and amount of water using a hydrometer . If the glaze has not been used for some time, the specific gravity should be checked before use.
We recommend that transparent and single-colored glazes should be sieved through a sieve with a mesh density of 60 mesh , however, sieving of effect glazes should be avoided.
The glaze can settle, to avoid this adjusting agent ABM-3 can be added.
